Google now writes Services onto your Business Profile with AI. I have seen it add things shops never offered. Customers call asking for work you do not do. Awkward.
Check your profile this weekend. Open the Services tab. Kill anything wrong. Add the three jobs that pay your bills, worded how callers say them.
Second shift: Google Ads drops language targeting late September. The search term decides the ad language now, not your settings. Bilingual advertisers in Jersey need matching landing pages or the spend leaks. I audited one account this week where a single Spanish query hit an English page. That is the whole leak in miniature.
The 10-minute checklist
1. Open your Services tab. Kill anything you do not sell. Google's AI additions read as confident even when they are wrong.
2. List your three money jobs first. Word them how callers say them on the phone, not how the industry labels them.
3. Add LocalBusiness schema with those same services. When your site and your profile agree, AI Overviews quote you instead of guessing.
4. Match landing pages to query language. One query language, one landing page. EN queries to EN pages, ES queries to ES pages. No exceptions after the September change.
5. Put a monthly 10-minute check on the calendar. Profiles drift. Catch it before a customer does.
What not to do
Do not rewrite your whole site over this. Do not buy a new tool for it either. Fix the profile, match the pages, and measure after the rollout settles. The businesses that lose to updates are not the slow ones. They are the ones that thrash.
